Administration
The Division is created by State statute and resides within the Department of Human Services. The Director of the Division is hired by the Executive Director of the Department of Human Services with concurrence of the Board. The Director may be fired by the Executive Director with notification to the Board. The Director is the administrative head of the Division. The Division shall implement and enforce policies established by the Board governing all aspects of the Division programs for aging and adult persons in the state of Utah.
The Division shall develop a plan for a coordinated adult protective services program with the goal of ensuring that every disabled or elder adult in need of protection from abuse, emotional or psychological abuse, neglect or exploitation will have access to those services.
